Our Week Went South

This week started with a friend's sister coming and giving each of us a hand analyse which was eye opening and intriguing. I've been interested in using essential oils so we are "sampling" a few to see how well they work. If Myriam's massive, back-end blow-outs are an indicator of the toxins in her body, then yes, the oils are working! Thankfully My Love was there to assist in the mess as we slowly made our way to Portland for business and play. It took us 7-8 hours to get to and the same to get back from Portland. Between games, rush hour, dinner times, poopy pants and construction, the roads were in full road rage conditions.  Tim headed to the coast and I had fun with my sister as we school shopped and played. All the kids needed new shoes and long pants and managed to find everything we needed to enter into the next season. Tim and I had a wonderfully delicious meal with a new business partner in Bridgeport as the kids were spoiled greatly by auntie back at the hotel. Today Tim and Charlie left for a camping trip leaving us ladies home to eat oreo-peanut butter brownies and watch all the girly movies we can without commentary from the boys. I'm excited for school to start this week even though I don't have all the books we need for all the classes. I still have plenty to get the kids going!

A Packed Project Week

With Addi and Charlie still on the boat, I was able to accomplish so much on the project To-Do list. From recovered school chairs to benches. $5 coffee table finds being sanded, stained and sealed, rooms painted and the house cleaned. I was very pleased with getting stuff done! The kids thoroughly enjoyed their boat trip with Papa and Nana and were excited to see Myriam when they came home. Tim had business in Florida and came home through Portland as Charlie was there helping Auntie get her medicine. The boys had some boy bonding time eating sushi and watching movies at the big screen while Addi was home catching up with her bestir Annie. After a birthday donut half eaten by our youngest, dinner take out from Olive Garden and paint cans put away, I was able to celebrate my 34th birthday. Saturday our family was once again under the same roof and happy. After a 12 miles training run I was ready to crash on the couch and rest. Sunday we had a fabulous visit with Tim's Uncle Jim and Aunt Mirella from Michigan. We closed the week out with delicious S'moresma's and anticipation for Fair week.

And then there was one...

This week was busy preparing for Addison and Charlie to go on the boat with their Papa and Nana. Catching up on laundry, packing bags, wrapping up swim lessons with Teacher Shannon and picking up Auntie Traci from the bus depot were just a few of our chores. My panic is about to go off as the school year is only a month away and I don't have the kids' lesson plans figured out yet. I managed to pick up a couple of items from the big sale at Launching Success and felt a little relief as I filled out the first of many purchase orders for the kids. Auntie Traci was able to watch Charlie at his last swim lesson but before we went, she again showed us her creepy arm that grosses me out but the kids find it "cool." Because of the fluid in her arm, her hand can be pushed and written on like a stress ball. She gave me a heart impression…so kind. Addi and Charlie are blessed to spend a week on the boat in the San Juan Islands with my parents, Auntie Traci and their cousin Talan. It's SOOOOOO quiet without the typical daily sibling conversations and Myriam having buttons to push. She definitely misses her brother and sister. Now it's time to get some projects done, the To-Do list checked off and some one on one time accomplished with our baby at home. Closing out the week was a relaxing, long-over-do dinner with our good friends and their boys. Myriam added the pink to the bunch of boys on the hill and some laughter as well! Dancing with Sam's old school picture and referring to Mac as "guy" was the highlight! It's been so much fun to see the boys grow up, but also to see them include the terrible two's too!
