Ski Trips & Special Treatments

This week was very laid back as we recovered from jet leg and illness. The kids worked on school and Myriam did her toddler thing (emptied a travel size bottle of Head & Shoulders on the bathroom floor, multiple escape attempts outside, learning to play the slug bug game "ugg bug…YES!"). Tim enjoyed his Christmas present and had a great time skiing with his dad even though his legs were a bit wobbly afterwards. Charlie had his 6 year well check and came out healthy. We've been working with Chuckles on the proper use of the word "awkward" and when it's appropriate to use. He used it correctly when the doctor lifted his pants and checked his manly parts as Charlie, with a smile, belted out, "AWKWARD!!!" Hilarious moment! Charlie also got clearance to be with his auntie during her chemotherapy treatments so he was down south for the last part of the week. Unfortunately, the week ended poorly as the cousins were playing with the red rider and shot the neighbors window. The kids will be paying that off for sometime now… thanking Jesus that no child was hurt! Now on to enjoy SPRING and the many bright vibrant colors that follow!

Another Bites the Dust

Well, the sick bugs have landed in our home with ear infections, lingering fevers, aggressive coughs, and irritating tummy aches. Long nights with our little one made for big pots of coffee the next morning as Myriam struggled to breath and yes, got "sickies" on Mommy as well. The kids were THRILLED to pick up Daddy from his 10 day trip from Cambodia and are enjoying their snuggles as he adjusts to the present time zone. Thank you Jesus for the blessing of sunshine this week as it allowed me to open doors and windows in attempts to air out the house and enjoy the pre-spring smells and sounds.

day 69 - first day of yard clean up in the beautiful sunshine

day 70 - more sunshine gave us more chances for yard clean up as the girls got their club house de-webbed and swept out

day 71 - a trip to edaline's for a sweet treat

day 72 - lunch at the rain forest cafe after picking daddy up from his trip

day 73 - relaxing with daddy as one recovers from extreme jet lag and the other a week of illness

day 74 - great aunt adeline stap will be remembered by her purple hair, recycled tin foil drawer, rinsed out garbage bags on the clothes line, frozen gallons of milk and cheese, and quiet smiles. never married but, she offered much to this world (this was taken when addi was just 2 weeks old)

day 75 - power went out and we hated to see the milk spoil

Starting Frozen and Ending with Sunshine…(kind of)

Week 10 of 2014 has some of us in the states and one of us in Cambodia, a 15 hour time change away. Tim has been meeting with local business men from the church and in the community to provide business plans and insight to their companies. From church plans to tortilla companies…he's thoroughly enjoying himself and being able to use his gift for the greater good. Much more to come about his trip later! The kids and I have been thawing out from the snow storm and silver thaw. Keeping busy with school, sleep overs, and mid-winter breaks. I had some speaking engagements and found myself blessed being a blessing. God is so good!

day 62 - starting to melt

day 63 - it may be 8:15am but popcorn and cartoons kept them still while the tires got rotated

day 64 - the dare devil took to the dirt roads in Cambodia…he survived
(this is where the sunshine is. daytime in the 90's and evening in the high 70's-80's)

day 65 - what's left of our 2014 winter storm

day 66 - scored minnie mouse flip flops for myriam at deals only

day 67 - addison doing her job of feeding the fish at the windmill

day 68 - thought we'd spend our wood's gift card with some hot chocolate and scones by the bay even with coughs and colds…4 sleeps and daddy comes home

A Birthday Week

From sand to snow…and now sleet. The weather has been a roller coaster, but the celebration of Charlie's 6th birthday made up for the lack of dolphins & sunshine. The suitcases are all unpacked and now Tim is packing again as he heads to Cambodia to do the Lord's work in less fortunate places. There's a small team heading out: Kim, Anne, Kate, Brian, Josh, and Tim. Pray as they go and make business connections to help the people across the world with those here and graduate a class of pastors to send out for church plants in a very unreached land. I'm hoping I got enough of sugar free puddings and jellos for Jenny (Pastor Sopea's wife) and cross my fingers they let the Splenda through security! Happy 6th Birthday Charles Douglas a.k.a. Chuckles!

day 55 - heading back home to our babies; no first class on the way home

day 56 - lots of snow means lots of hot chocolate & igloo building with friends

day 57 - because every toddler likes to smear vick's baby rub in their hair. the next day was throat spray dumped on the floor and the day after pancake mix fun. good times
