And the Mess Continues...

A regular week really.
Nothing major besides having a huge mud pit in the front yard for young children to play in. The temperatures grew warmer and we had another week with spared weather as we delivered Christmas cards to all those on Addison's paper route. We've gotten really good with the timing of delivery and the kids have complained less each time. Auntie Traci helped out quite a bit this week as Tim had me cooking for some of his site guys and then again overnight for the company Christmas party. We had a great time catching up with everyone from Elements and enjoyed some late night snacks at Packer's after the party. Nothing beats a delicious cheese plate at 11:30! Saturday night was the Christmas Lighted Parade which we enjoyed from inside Daddy's office. Always a fun evening watching the floats go by full of lights and Christmas cheer. We served hot cider in the Windmill and I'm sure that kept many hands warm while standing outside watching. After the parade, the Ellis family and our kids enjoyed playing around in the miniature golf for a few fun rounds of golf. To close off the week, we had the Van Dyken family party here at home. Finger foods, sweet treats and a few hours to catch up with cousins. Not too mention Miss Kaylee, the newest to the family by a few weeks! Thank you Lindy for letting many of us cousins and Auntie's to have baby snuggles.
On to the next week. School routines, business travel and Auntie Traci heading back to Portland. My fingers are crossed for a change of weather in
the form of fluffy white stuff falling from the sky...

Travel and Overnights

This week sent Tim on another business trip far east as he was voted into the Construction and Design Council for the American Resort and Development Association in Washington D.C.
Being in D.C. over Veteran's Day was emotional and touching as Tim and Lance were surrounded by memorials, speeches, concerts and Veteran's of all ages.
The kids and I stayed warm as the temperatures dropped into the freezing state with the north eastern winds keeping things chilly. I was able to meet up with Tim in Seattle for a couple of solid nights sleep with no interruptions and much needed couple time. With no agenda, Tim and I were able to grab coffee's, walk miles around downtown and through Pike's Place and visit Quintessential Oils where Missy, Tim's baby sister, has her art work on display. This place was amazing as they had over 30 different oils and vinegars to mix, taste and create! It was just what I needed to unwind after a busy stretch of travel and walk hand in hand with My Love.
We are very grateful to my parents who willingly take the challenge of watching all three kids including the one who was supposed to be "napping" but instead was busy in Dad's bathroom with soap, mouthwash and lotion. God will use Myriam's curiosity and busy body for something big in her life!
Stay warm, bundle up and enjoy the last of fall!
